RIGS
Rigs are used in both luring and baiting. They are just as important as your knots and main line, after all, they are the closest part of the line to the fish. If rigs are not properly tied, the fish may escape.
Below are some commonly used rigs in Singapore, these rigs should be good enough to catch you fish:
1. Apollo rig
2. Float rig
3. Lure leader
What kind of line should I use?
For rigs and leaders, most people would use fluorocarbon lines. Fluorocarbon lines are better as they do not stretch under pressure unlike monofilament lines. For pond fishing, 30lb-40lb lines should be more than enough to handle most fishes. When fishing at reservoirs, lure leaders should be around 20lb-30lb. (If you are going for fishes with sharp body parts use heavy gauge fluorocarbon lines.)
1. Apollo rig
The Apollo rig is the universal baiting rig. It is a very flexible kind of rig that can be customized to suit different needs. You can have a few hook snoods and have a longer hook snood. Going bottom fishing at ponds? Use a long snood, single hook apollo rig.

Materials required for Apollo rig tieing.

Step 1: Snell a hook onto a line to make a hook snood. Trim off the extra line.

Step 2: Tie a Surgeon's knot at where you want to connect the hook snood to the main line. Trim off the extra line.

Step 3: Tie a snap using a Trilene knot at the end of the line and attach a sinker. Trim off the extra line.
2. Float Rig
The Float rig is used to float bread on the surface or allow a live bait to swim at the surface of the water.

Step 1: Snell a hook to a line.

Step 2: Tie a swivel at the end of the line using a Trilene knot and your float rig is finished. Attach a float to your main line and clip on a split shot sinker when in use.
3. Lure leader
The lure leader is use to attach the lure to your line. Attach a split ring at the ring of the lure before tying the leader on it.

Step 1: Tie a swivel to the line using a Trilene knot and tie the end of the line to the lure.
